Wood Drying Technologist (m/w/d)

We are looking for a Wood Drying Technologist (full time) to improve the drying process in all our sawmills. Your location will be in Ybbs an der Donau (AT) or Brand (AT) or Bad St. Leonhard (AT) or Zdirec (CZ) or Plana (CZ) or Murow (PL) or Alytus (LTU) or Launkalne (LVA) or Imavrere (EST) or Näpi (EST) or Nebolchi (RUS) or Impilahti (RUS) or Gruvön (SWE) or Ala (SWE) or Honkalahti (FIN) or Varkaus (FIN) or Amsterdam (NLD) and you will be working in Wood Products Division. You will report to our Head of technology.

Your tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Analyze the drying results (time, energy input, drying quality) (approx. 400 drying chamber/channel)
  • Develop drying schedules which fit to the specific needs
  • Continuous improvement of drying schedules based on analyzes of the drying results
  • Support our Project Manager to develop the right design with kiln supplier if we invest in new projects and support the design of rebuilt in some of our existing kilns
  • Further Development of our Kiln drying program
  • Stepwise implementation of our kiln drying system
  • Support our drying experts in the mills to improve our drying results
  • Support to recognize defects in our drying chambers

  • This is an information for Austria as required by law. A performance-related salary based on your qualifications, professional experience and market value. The annual gross salary for this position is around € 50.000,00 plus a variable component .

 

Qualifications

 

  • Several years of experience and deepl knowledge in soft wood drying technology
  • A completed education and technical knowledge
  • Joy in improving existing processes
  • Afinity of statistics and analytical thinking
  • Good MS-Office skills
  • Administrative skills and highly structured working method, hands-on mentality
  • Capability to work in international teams and independently
  • Proactive, result oriented, willing to take initiative and responsibility
  • Good English skills (other languges are an advantage)
  • Willingness to travel
