About the position


The People organization plays a vital part in driving and supporting our strategy execution and business transformation. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about fostering global HR success through technology and innovation. These new positions, Workday Specialists, will join our HR Digital Service team focusing on Workday. A critical component of this role is maintaining Workday, including implementing process improvements, ensuring data integrity, and analysis/reporting.


You will be the subject matter expert for Workday in the selected process areas. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical point of contact, assist internal stakeholders with Workday needs, execute user training, and test system changes. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work in a high-growth organization where they can shape a new people technology muscle.


We are looking for multiple persons to work with the following areas:


  • Core HCM
  • Recruiting
  • Compensation and Advanced Compensation
  • Talent & Development
  • Journeys (Journey path and cards)
  • Peakon


As one of our Workday specialists you will have the responsibility for one or several of our process areas and is also expected to gain some knowledge within other process areas to create ONE team where we all work together. You are also expected to monitor the market and community to stay up to date in what is ongoing and new and coming in the Workday community.


As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be (but not limited to):


  • Support the implementation of Workday; this includes new modules, new functions, and new tool integrations while adhering to the implementation schedule
  • Proactively identify, recommend, and prioritize areas to simplify, standardize, and improve Workday business processes to meet rapid business growth
  • Provide operational support by leading and facilitating training, and crafting end user process documentation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues
  • Stay atop HR trends and best practices, with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies.


You can be located in any Stora Enso premises in Sweden, Finland or Czech.

Skills and qualifications needed in the role:


  • 1+ years’ experience as a super user admin with Workday HCM and related modules, including system configuration and business processes
  • Bachelor’s degree or a compelling story
  • A fundamental understanding of day-to day HR processes and recurring programs
  • Change management and Project Management experience
  • Personally motivated by critical thinking and improving processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and are comfortable communicating with stakeholders both within and outside your own team at all levels of the organization
  • Have a strong sense of urgency and are able to execute quickly and efficiently while managing competing priorities
  • A kind, collaborative, team player


Additional skills and qualifications beneficial in this role:

  • Experience working for a publicly-traded company
  • Workday Pro certification or other related certificates/trainings
  • Project management training/certification
