Experienced Project Manager

Are you experienced project manager looking for a new opportunity in field of sustainability and biodiversity development? We are looking for two (2) Experienced Project Managers to join the Forest Division at Stora Enso to lead both IT and business development projects.

 

This position covers all Forest Division’s units in Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Location of this position is flexible. You will report to the Head of PMO, Forest Division.

The new Forest division, which started operations in the beginning of 2020, includes Stora Enso’s Swedish forest assets and the 41% share of Tornator with the majority of its forest assets located in Finland. The division also includes wood supply operations in Finland, Sweden, and the Baltic countries. The division’s key focus areas are sustainable forest management, competitive wood supply to Stora Enso’s mills and innovation. As a major player in the bioeconomy, access to wood is critical for Stora Enso. Today, Stora Enso is one of the biggest private forest owners in the world.

 

About the position


The Project Manager in the Forest Division will play a leading role in driving variable projects and delivering results in time, in budget and in scope. Candidates we consider will need to have a proven track record of successfully leading complex implementation projects and/or programs in an international environment from pre-study through deployment and operational support. You will be in a central role by bringing ideas as well as communicating with your stakeholders, project team and the vendors. As a person, you are a true team player willing to help and support your business partners and colleagues.


Skills we expect you to have:  

 

•    Minimum of five years of Project Management experience in software development
•    Experience in planning and leading projects driven by data and analytics
•    Experience in biodiversity and sustainability -related development
•    Experience in leading both agile and waterfall projects
•    Experience in leading international project teams
•    Expert knowledge and understanding of program/project management and software development including basic steps of project management - collecting requirements, scoping, designing solution, configuring, testing, training, documenting, communicating, deploying and supporting the hand-over phase  
•    Excellent communication, collaboration and interactive team management and leadership skills
•    Professional and confident presentation and public speaking skills and ability to communicate with all levels in the organization 
•    Hands-on and customer-oriented attitude 
•    Good time management skills
•    Problem solving and analytical skills: ability to resolve issues and mitigate risks in a proactive manner to avoid project blockers and escalations
•    Ability and willingness to manage administrative and financial tasks - to create and manage budget as well as report budget and project status to stakeholders and executive management
•    Bachelor’s degree or university-level education in Sustainability, Biodiversity, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
•    Excellent command of written and spoken English 
•    Ability to travel 
•    An organized way of working and a systematical and precise working style

 

We also appreciate if you have understanding of financial systems and processes. We would like you to have hands-on experience with Microsoft Project and MS Project Online as well as project management certification (IPMA, PMI or equivalent). We appreciate experience in forest industry and wood supply and ability to facilitate workshops. You could also have hands-on approach in organizational change management. Fluency in following languages Finnish, Swedish, Latvian, Lithuanian or Estonian is taken as an advance.
