Senior Technical Advisor, CTMP and PGW

We are now looking for a Senior Technical Advisor with solid expertise in mechanical fibers (CTMP and PGW) processes in operations to join our Packaging Materials division. This position can be based in any of our Packaging Materials office or mill sites and involves regular visits to the division’s mills in Imatra, Skoghall, Fors and Beihai. This role is part of a multinational Operations Development team and reports to Operations Development Director.

About the position  


The main purpose in this role is to create and maintain leading-edge competence, particularly in the CTMP and mechanical fibres field of expertise including process, technology and product development. Understanding the operations of your internal customers through networking and data analysis, providing senior level expertise regarding mechanical fibers and leading the development of new solutions and concepts for our mill operations are the key responsibilities of this role.  


You will work closely with our mills to identify improvement opportunities in the production process, drive development initiatives and analyse the outcomes. You will strengthen our operational performance by developing and coaching the organisation and harmonising processes. You will take part in strategic projects and generate project proposals regarding both long and short-term development and improvement of current customer processes. You will steer and run development projects together with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you will support the implementation of our Continuous Improvement and Packaging Materials Production System agenda.

Who we are looking for


We are looking for a curious fiber (CTMP and PGW) professional who is able to gain a comprehensive view of the production process and improvement areas and is willing to develop them further by analysing long-term data trends and current operational practises. Previous experience in CTMP and PGW operations management and/or development in industrial environment is an important asset in this role. We expect you to have good interpersonal skills and a natural interest to involve people. Your focus should be on achieving results of a high standard and having a true impact on the operations of our mills. Willingness to travel regularly is essential in the role. 


Skills and qualifications needed in the role:

  • More than five years of experience in working with CTMP processes 
  • Good understanding of Lean and Zero Loss philosophies in operations and a solid track record in change management and Lean implementation 
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field 
  • Fluent English skills, both oral and written
