Our solutions offer low-carbon alternatives to products based on finite resources. We believe that everything that is made from fossil-based materials today can be made from a tree tomorrow.
About the position
As Head of Piloting you will be responsible for all campaigns and trials run on piloting assets, including pilot pulp assets and pilot board machines including coating equipment as well as general maintenance and investment planning activities for the IRD organization. You are the line manager for the MFC Plant team at Kaukopää and the piloting team in RCI (15 people jointly). This is a new position where you will create and drive continuous adjustment of an asset development plan: align with stakeholders on capabilities needed inside and outside of existing scope and drive continuous development of the assets. This is with the aim to make sure the pilot assets are and stay on top of new developments and therefore relevant for all Stora Enso mills and external customers. You will be responsible for the quality of the material produced and the asset utilization throughout the planning cycle.

Your tasks will also include giving recommendations/consultancy to our Internal Customers as well as External Customers on how to specify and manufacture trial materials on lager scale. Maintain and develop competence within board technology, CTMP, fiber processing, coating technology, barrier technology, datamining and troubleshooting tools. Furthermore, you will monitor, implement or access state-of-the art methods and tools relevant for the present and future needs of the relevant area.

Further, you will assume responsibility for site management tasks for RCI beyond the pilot line teams, including building and sub-contractor management, safety responsibility (delegated) and signing rights on behalf of the company. You will get involved in investment projects.
