Safety ,EE Manager

We are currently looking for an  Safety,EE Manager for our Amsterdam Unit in Wood Products Division. As a Safety ,EE Manager, you will be responsible for the safety, environment and quality side of the business. Our unit is an integrated orderpicking and planing mill. Our main customers are the typical DIY outlets. Your job is to continuously optimize and manage the systems in accordance with the local law and legislation and the demand of the Wood Production multisite certification responsible persons. As a member of the mill management team, you will be part of the future growth and the overall safety of the unit.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Coordinate Safety/IMS audits and inspection of facilities, machinery and Safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and to ensure Safety regulation compliance
  • Ensures a safe working environment by making sure that rules are in place and followed, develops safe working methods, by setting a good example and by coaching.
  • Area safety including fire protection and emergency planning and training
  • Leading role in external and internal auditing
  • Investigation of accidents, near-miss incidents and occupational injuries to determine causes and install preventive measures
  • Coordinate employee Safety reporting and programs, including review of short and long term strategic Safety planning and development
  • Enforce compliance of the rules and regulations that applies for the mill based on:
    • Applicable local safety laws and regulations
    • Group and division Safety procedures
    • Output and findings from e.g risk assessments and incident investigations
    • Excellent knowledge of 9001, 14001, 45001 and 50001  
  • Develops a culture of continuous improvement by enforcing a go and see- mindset and daily routines for problem solving and improvement
  • Leader and a role model, developing an inclusive and engaging culture
  • Cross department problem solving, develops the mill with the mill management team
  • Project management and involvement in projects
  • Supporting in controlling and developing energy efficiency

Qualifications

In order to succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Either 3-5 years of field Safety and EE experience or working in a role in operations with very strong connection to Safety, Energy and Environment management
  • Structured and well organized working style
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent in Dutch and English
  • Comprehensive view with excellent analytical skills and persistence in order to get things done
  • Ability to cooperate, having a natural interest to involve people and support others
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and rules, in the area of safety, energy and environment
  • Change management and communication skills
  • High learning ability
  • IT skills

 

The person will report to the Mill Director of the unit
Location: Amsterdam.
