We are looking for a Manager, Supply Chain US to join a dynamic team of experienced supply chain professionals in Atlanta USA.  You will be working for Division Wood Products and you will report to the Head of Distribution Units, Wood Products.  This is a new position that will be offered on a permanent local contract only. 

Our vision is to maintain and further develop our position as a high-quality supplier of European softwoods in the US market by providing a wide range of products, just-in-time delivery within 48 hours and My Supply online ordering.

As a Manager, Supply Chain US, your job will be to lead all activities and staff within the Supply Chain department.  You will secure efficient and well-maintained warehousing and logistics with external suppliers.  Based on demand plan from sales, you must source and manage the flow of Wood Products US pipeline, to secure delivery on time and further develop related processes to excellence. You will be the main contact point for the Supply Chain Organization in Europe in regard to delivery performance development in the pipeline.  Naturally you will be an expert in procurement for Wood Products US and you will have responsibility for managing and sourcing the required services and assets in co-operation with the relevant SE Group functions.  As a member of the Stora Enso US Wood Products management, you will participate in developing and executing the divisions strategy in the US.

Your Main Tasks and Responsibilities will be:


  • Responsible for the OHS at Stora Enso US Wood Products
  • Manage DU purchasing process to meet the sales target; planning, execution and deviation management; maintain transparent communication with counter parties’ i.e.  logistics and mills 
  • Manage and source required assets and services to run the U.S. entity in co-operation with relevant SE Group functions. Ensure all major category spend (warehousing / transport / customs) are properly tendered and contracted with written contracts in place for all major vendors.
  • Manage DU daily operations; purchasing, reception of goods, warehousing and customer deliveries
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy and stock write-off management
  • Responsible for overall stock take process
  • Support WP U.S. sales organization with accurate and timely information of customer deliveries and availability of products
  • Ensure compliancy to rules & legislation within responsibility area
  • Participate in business planning and target setting as a member of US WP management; execute within responsibility area
  • Implement harmonize management practices used in WP DU network; implement related KPI’s and reporting
  • Jointly with mill supply chain management; further develop end-to-end supply chain processes in WP U.S. pipeline in terms of cost, efficiency, capital employed, delivery accuracy and availability.
  • Responsible for the Chain of Custody (CoC) process and other sustainability matters




In order to succeed in this role, you will have:


  • Relevant professional qualification and senior level work experience in supply chain in an international setup
  • Strong analytical skills together with a structured & systematic approach
  • Performance oriented and ability to always deliver against set targets and deadlines
  • Ability to understand and drive development of processes independently
  • Ability to build inter-relationships with various parts of the organization
  • Flexibility with working hours taking time difference to Europe into account
  • IT literate: fluent with MS excel and ERP’s on basic reporting working process level, previous experience on any advanced reporting and analytics tool on SC area is an advantage
  • Experience in S&OP process and tools is an advantage
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Willingness to travel if needed.
